Put Your Hands Up

All the single ladies, all the single ladies, oh oh oh ohohoh....

I often relate situations in my life to music and movie quotes.  I do like Beyonce so I couldn't help but have this song in my head over the last weekend.

With Jimmy having gone away for the weekend, after we of course discussed and agreed on terms, it was my first 'long term' go at it with my kids alone.  I mean, don't get me wrong, I love both my children dearly and appreciate every moment with them BUT many consequtive hours alone with a two year old and a two month old can wear on a person.  This, in turn, has given me a deep appreciation for those single moms, single dads or for those who have spouses that work shift work or ridiculous hours!  Holy man....how do you do it all the time? I guess that's what love is right?

I learned a lot about myself and how hard sometimes being a parent can be.  I am thankful that Beckett loves his Basketball and hockey toys in the basement and that there can never be enough dance parties!  This kind of time together with my kids also lets me appreciate them as they are and how funny they can be and to see their little personalities develop.  Importantly, it's neat to see how excited Beckett is to see his Daddy, running to the door and greeting him with a hug but....watch out Beckett...Mommy is pushing you out of the way to get to him first!  It's often a sigh of relief to hear that garage door close and for Jimmy to walk in the door.  I don't know what I would do without him sometimes...

This is also a 'shout out' to all our family and friends who have helped us along the way.  We wouldn't be where we are without so many good people in our lives and most of whom, Beckett loves and talks about all the time and surely Tatum will too!

Fist pumps to all our favourite peeps!

Word out.
